Lay of the Land – Ancestral Freedom
This is a card of adventure and change. When you look at your life, you see an opportunity to make changes you have always wanted to. When you consider the lay of the land, the lay of your life, the opportunities and challenges, you see how you could change and the paths others have taken along the same road as you are contemplating.
Now is the time to seek a mentor, or make use of one you already have in your life that you have been ignoring. A mentor is another word for guide. It could be a spiritual guide that has been with you since birth and you have only been vaguely aware of. They not only show you the path you should take, they also show you have better to enjoy your life.
Take the time to learn about your mentor and the path they have already taken. The path they are showing to you provides for success and happiness in all that matters to you.
Along this path, you will find treasure and gifts that others who have gone before you have failed to pick up or abandoned on their own journey along this path. Be open, be happy, and be adventurous.
Wood Wives – Adaptability
The Dance of the Wood Wives is firstly about being grounded in all things, in all aspects of your life. You need to be clear about your life, what it is and where and what you are doing. Once grounded, you can look at your life, see what you will and will not tolerate, where are your boundaries are with others. Being grounded gives you security and the ability to grasp opportunities and changes and resist what you do not want.
The cycle of good fortune is turning in your favour and a gift, a blessing, is about to be given on you. Your groundedness will help you seize the blessing, appreciate and enjoy it. To enjoy it fully, you need to be flexible. Flexible enough to receive and flexible enough to gain maximum enjoyment and growth from what arrives.
Wood Wives are also an expression of change the blessing brings you. The blessing brings change. Adaptability, the subtext for this card is required of you now. If you are not adaptable to the gifts and changes given you by the blessing you will receive, you will not benefit from it as much as you should or could.
Inflexibility may mean you miss the opportunity, or stumble and fall when you should stand tall and moving with your new gifts. Inflexibility in the face of change may cause confrontation and unhappiness. This will pass, but adaptability to what you are offered will allow you to avoid it.
What is offered may be so new that you start to worry about how far you can go. Is this a fear of failure that needs to be pushed aside as you move forward? Do not draw a “line in the sand” that are limits to how far you think this opportunity will take you? Do not draw lines in the sand. Let the change take you as far as it will take you.
