Stranger – Curiosity
The Stranger is you! The other part of you, the other side of you. It is a shadow self that moves in lockstep with you. Always seeking the known and understood. Avoiding what is new and unexperienced. It is a part of you that looks at the world and opportunities that open up to you as things to avoid. It is the part of you that sees these opportunities as something to fear.
This is a time to learn about the new things available to you and your participation in them. It is a time to learn about yourself, why you fear change and newness. Why you feel sameness is the only option in life. The changes may not all be enjoyable and happy, but as you enjoy the positive changes, accept and understand the negative. Do not look for the big bang ahha moment. Allow the voice of small change to come into your life. Allow a different point of view to enter your life.
Take the risk and enjoy the moments that come to you as you accept change.
The Crossing – rite of passage, initiation
This card follows on from The Stranger. It reinforces the need to move on and change by picturing your life as a river you have to cross to continue your life journey on the other side. Do not give up on the idea of crossing the river or the Stranger that walks beside you avoiding what is new and unknown.
You are at the crossing because you are ready for it. Step into the boat and let it take you to the other side where there is light and all this holding you back is illuminated and examined before being shed allowing you to move forward in your life’s journey.
